About [screen]

I've install screen in my system.
However, I can run this program in root ONLY.

When I use screen by a user. Here is the message:
Cannot open your terminal '/dev/pts/0' - please check.

Thus, what should I do?
How to make screen run by general users?

You could TRY:

tty
chown <current user> <device shown by tty command>
(or chmod 777 <device shown by tty command>)
screen ...

Not sure I've ever done screen as anyone but root so don't know if above would work. The message is clearly a permission issue.

Also are you logging in as root then doing su to the user? If so then root has to own the tty because your top level shell is still running. It might work if you login directly as the user rather than doing an su to it from root.

Oh! It works!
Yes, I login as root and then su as a general user.
Now, I can use screen when I login as user directly.
