[problem] Hal not starting properly
Hi, i've run into a serious problem with Hal. When my laptop is booting (Debian Lenny) it stops after about 10 seconds. I've to have it manually skipping the operation that stops it with a ctrl+c, but when I login into GDM i get the message "Failed to initialize HAL", and it takes me a
sudo /etc/init.d/dbus restart
to get it working again... this is very annoying, have you got an idea on how to fix this problem?
Here's the boot log:

Are you seeing this message?
Dave. Stop. Stop, Dave. Will you stop, Dave? I'm afraid. I'm afraid, Dave. Dave, my mind is going.
Sorry, I couldn't resist this answer.

great reply peter! BUT, doesn't solve the problem (don't worry I'm not having a go... honest!) Im getting this too and its verrrry annoying
maybe we need to shut down its higher brain functions... damn you got me at it now! HAHAHA
ok, seriously though, anyone got any solutions or at least jury rigging idea's to solve it??? (btw, Im still a duffer/novice in Debian and linux so a nice easy answer would be food, but knowing Debian its going to be major open kernel surgery then... bring it on!)
