**GIFT-FATAL: Unable to start...

I got this after compiling 'gift-0.11.6' (i previously compiled OpenFT sucessfully)

** GIFT-FATAL: unable to start 'OpenFT', no idea why (hopefully the protocol provided some info) *** Often times more information can be found in the log file or with the -v command line switch.

What happened and how do i fix it?!
