plz help me? I wasn't sure what your problem was by your title

What is your machine setup? do you have separate partitions or a single one?
what does your syslog say?

Please post your computer setup and configuration.

Depends if you have old logs in /var directory on that partition to gain some space. May not be much but enough to get up. Then look into another harddrive.

Your ssh into the machine?
Then you can use the rm command to remove files if that is the issue if the partition is full.
Need to really look over the partition to see what can actually be removed from the root partition.
Unless you have a lot of old logs based on date then your going to keep having the same issue over time. You need more room for a second session of X server to run.

Brian

You need to identify what information is important for you and make a backup sow you can keep your system with some space.

for example you can take a look into /var/log and see with the ls -l command what archives are not useful anymore and erasae them.

The 'du' command can be helpful in these situations. Type 'man du' to find out more

Df - du

df and du commands are pretty much the same the only diference is that the df command shows information about disks on your system, and du command shows information about files one by one.

you can use -h option in both commands to see the output in human format.
