Exclamation Ooooops.

This is a winmodem or a software modem. I recommend you get a external serial modem. If you are using a laptop, good luck. You will need to find drivers for your model. Try www.google.com/linux . Put in the model and say a prayer that someone wrote drivers.

www.linmodems.org

And in the future, use better and more helpful thread titles please. Your title doesn't explain your exact problem.

Exclamation Got that right Mod

I have a 24K connection and I hate those bad titles. I usually pass them by. I did a google search to find out about the modem. It appearantly doesn't have much support from what I read.
Whoever came up with winmodems should be doomed to using windoze forever! Torture till they die.

Smile console,hmmm?

I don't use console much so I'm shooting in the dark. Try 'kppp' and see what it does. If you have trouble try 'man kppp'. That should help you if you need more info to run in console.

I'm not much help on this though. I use a GUI.

Dude, I don't understand, and many other people probably can't either.

How do you remove the "x" before 87723 in what exactly?

What *exactly* are you doing to try to log in to your ISP?

Details are crucial, my friend.

Without them, everything is a shot in the dark.
