Post Please help me to configure vsftp.conf


Hi everyone

i have installed vsftp in fedora core 6......
the default folder that is getting displayed is /var/pub
i have serched in many sites but i am messing up with those options
i didnt get the options which i want

CAN ANY ONE PLEASE SEND THE BASIC CONFIGURATION OF vsftpd.conf WHICH SATISFIES THE FOLLOWING

--->create 2 users with usernames and passwords
--->the home directory for the 2 users should be different
--->Adding some directory which is not there in the home directory of both the users
--->there should be one folder in both the user acounts i.e UPLOADS where user can upload stuff
--->how to set the permissions for the shared folders and files individually

THANKS IN ADVANCE

please send me the file vsftpd.conf which satisfies the above requiremensts.....

Try looking at the man page for vsftpd.conf for basic configuration options. There are a couple of routes you can take for adding users. You can either add real users to your machine, or create virtual users with PAM. Check /usr/doc/vsftpd-<version> for a ton of examples of various configurations.

Being a beginner to linux i am fed up with all these configuration part
I am spending lot of time to get simple things work properly

IF U DONT MIND CAN U GIVE ME THE vsftp.conf FILE WITH THE REQUIREMENTS THAT I HAVE SPECIFIED

Well, what have you tried out so far? Pasting your config file would help us for starters. I won't give you all the answers but I'll help you get jump started

That's on the system itself. You need to create 2 users and give them passwords

Same answer as above. When you create the users, make sure you specify different home directories for them.

Look into command, 'chmod/chown'.
