Hostname Squid

Hey all I have squid running nicely on FC5

Basically what it does atm is running as a filter.

Umm one problem that i have encountered is the hostname of the server i can not use it, I have to use the ip of the server.

Could someone please help me with my problem.

Cheers, Matt

I guess you mean clients need to have the IP of the proxy else they will not reach the proxy (proxy = system running squid). the clients need to have an entry in their /etc/hosts file to point to the proxy or a namaserver in /etc/resolv.conf that knows the ip and nale of the proxy ...
