rpc.statd
Simple question.
Is rpc.statd necessary for any reason if I'm not running NFS at all nor plan on running it? I don't think it is, but I'm still new to this process and I'm just trying to lock down a box by removing any unnecessary services.
Thanks in advance...

Shouldn't be used by anything that I know of other than NFS, so if your not a client or server, it's safe to disable
