Firewall Programing
Hey,
I'm doing a research for a university project, i need to write a firewall, probably much similar to iptables, basically being able to block ips and ports also doing network intrusion detection and being able to block certain patterns, the question is How can i intercept data being sent and received by applications, analyze it, and manipulate it if needed, is there a certain kernel module to do so or sth? what is it, can i get netfilter to get me the info i need, if yes how is that, and where should i be looking?
