Er, where does it say anything about being linux-friendly? Google talk uses the Jabber protocol, so it is already compabile with gaim... that festoon client doesn't appear to have a linux version out, even though it does have video and audio (which gaim doesn't)
I know the first couple of LQ Radio was done on skype and they were having some issues on confrence type calls. I do not know about the video portion of skype.
Right now, skype is a one call only affair since it won't free up the audio device after one call. The fact that it's OSS based doesn't make things any better
