Xine


Hi , i'm using suse 9.1. I try to play a vcd on xine but it saying no demuxer plugin , cannnot play. What is that?

Hm yes, either you have a vcd which doesn't comply to the
appropriate standard, or SuSE doesn't come with the required
decoder.
Is your vcd encrypted? If no, then just mount it
(mount /dev/cdrom /media/cdrom at the console, as root)
then open kaffeine and, via konqueror, pull the *.dat file(s)
(which are Mpg1, if I remember correctly) into kaffeine.
If that doesn't work, you are really missing the decoder, and
you may want to go to www.mplayerhq.hu or www.xinehq.de.
