X window problem...

Hello,

This is a problem I've been running into and I don't know where to start fixing it:

If i login as one user and su into a different account, I can't seem to open any X app. I get the following error:

cannot connect to X server :0.0

but as the original user i can open any app i want no problem.

Can someone help me?

this is a stab in the dark , but iirc startx command will take information out files for that user (cant remember what but the are in your home directory) so it maybe that the user your are su ing to () is unable to read the files due to permission problems on the file, this is probably a load of old tosh, but its something worth considering.

I must admit i have never encountered this problem. But then again i dont use DEBIAN

*cough* beatnik *cough*
