X window problem


my X window is taking too much of physical memory.

In my "top" command msg it shows 149 Mb and java shows 68 Mb.

how to reduce it

my distro is RhL 9.0 and i am using Gnome gui

any ideas

1. Switch to a lighter weight desktop environment
2. Use only a window manager
