weird problem with gnome splash screen


weird problem with gnome splash screen i am having

at the gnome website wer i got thsi splash screen, it says to edit g-conf and i did , replacing the dir it gave me with the one of my new splash screen, but whn i log out, and log bak in, i still have my default one, g-conf sayz it know wer to get the image, but fails to fetch it when it is needed

any help is much appericated

help, part 1: read 'http://www.catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html'
help, part 2: install ispell (or another spelling checker of your choice) and use it.

about the gnome splash screen: I don't know. Sorry.
