Any good practical/tutorial exercises out there to use to gain experience with linux?

A web search for "free Linux tutorials" will turn up a myriad of useful links, so many that I hesitated to pick one to include in this post.

In addition, you can find lots of tutorials and demos on YouTube for various distros, desktops, procedures, and applications.

Look at Tutorials section of SlackwareŽ-Links. More than just Slackware links.
