Hi sorry not checked this thread for a while, I replied to big john but I will post what I said up here for you all

I will try to answer all the questions posted.

pibby, thx for the comments ye I love it although I cant take any credit for it. You must install superkaramba first, the theme I used is under the karamba section at www.kdelook.org, in reply to your other message the files can be put anywhere that is readable by the user wishing to use the theme, eg I put my themes in /usr/share/supertheme/ and set the permissions to allow access for all users.

Lostman, the sidebar is indeed a mac style launchbar and is part of the entire theme (links further down)

As bigjohn already said the bar on the left is indeed a skinned gkrellm the reason I still run gkrellm as some of the sharper eyed people will have noticed is that I have 2 CPU's. The most important thing to point out is for the other theme you NEED superkaramba (links below)

The news feeds are part of the same theme, but you will need perl installed and you will have to edit the scripts so that you get the correct newsfeeds (I wanted /. and el reg)

here are the links

Superkaramba
http://www.kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=5810

Light-n-Crisp (the topbar, newsfeeds, mac style bar, wallpaper etc.)
http://www.kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=6751

*edit* its seems that Light-n-crisp only needs karamba, but your better off installing superkaramba anyway*edit*

Hope that helps you folks.

Regards,

~KDF

How hard is Superkaramba to install? I d/l it last night be the install notes where a bit daunting. Once it's installed, is it a script that I have to find an run or will it run with KDE upon boot?

If you are using Mandrake as your profile says then there is an rpm available.

reall. That would be killer. I tried the tar.gz a few times and it kicked my ass. I'm still getting the hang of this install thing though.

It's hard goign from an OS you know inside and out to starting all over again.

just download it and then

rpm -ivh nameofrpm.rpm

sorted, the real killer was trying to get slickbar installed on a mandrake system, mandrake has dodgy QT files and there is just so many dependancies.
