Strange problems with LibreOffice Writer keyboard

I posted earlier about keyboard issues that I thought were caused by the shortcut keys, but I just went through all the shortcut keys and none of the problems I've been having are listed there. (Problems like automatic log off, split screen and getting a warning that the computer will shut down in 30 seconds.) Any idea of what it might be? The OS is Porteus and the LO Writer is 4.3.4.1. Could it be that the OS is configured to do those things? Or is it something else? Thanks.

If it were me, the first thing I'd do is try a different keyboard to make sure it is not hardware.

I found this thread on the Porteus forums that might give you a starting point: https://forum.porteus.org/viewtopic.php?t=227

Thanks a lot, Frank. And thanks for the link. It's a laptop so no switching keyboards, but I'm going to close this thread and try to run this down at the Porteus forum.
