I don't think there is one with installpkg since install package (as it's name suggests) installs the package how it was built.
Also, as far as I know there is no configuration option in LibreOffice to install only swriter (aka Writer).

Even if you did find the way to do this, you wouldn't save any space. If you check the actual size of each program included, you will see that each one is *very* small. This is because each one is simply a small wrapper which loads all the necessary libraries. These libraries are all shared by the programs -and nearly all of them are used by every one of the programs. It is possible to shave a very few megabytes off the installed size by eliminating the other unwanted programs and some of the libs and some of the data files. However, finding out just what is needed and what is not will cost you *lots* of work and trial-and-error fiddling. It's really not worth it.

just.srad,
If it's just a word processor you're after, have a look at Abiword. It's at slackbuilds.org

Hi,
If you were using a debian based package distribution, then sudo apt-get install libreoffice-writer would install only the writer from the libreoffice suite. So you could try installpkg libreoffice-writer.
Hope it works!

Thanks all for the replies.
Actually i am trying to install LibreOffice for the Porteus Linux in 4GB USB Flash Drive and i was prompted not having
enough disk space.
Hence my question posted here.
Thanks gnashley for your explanation and i learned something from there. :-)
I will try litzel suggestion ... if i manage to find the libreoffice-writer package.

litzel's suggestion does probably not apply to a Slackware based distro like Porteus where nobody created a libreoffice-writer package yet...

You can try download the debian libreoffice-writer package file and use deb2tgz (converts debian packages to slackware packages), I didn't try it yet. But you need install all dependencies for Libreoffice-writer in advance, and maybe the total size required for all installations would not pay off.

It doesn't matter the version, but the debian packages for libreoffice-writer and it's dependecies must be the recommended for the version of libreoffice-writer debian package that you download. Search for "libreoffice-writer debian" on google, and pay attention for 64 or 32 bits packages (don't mix them). After dowloading the debians files (packages) you must transform them into slackware packages (*.tgz) using the command line script "deb2tgz" (you can find it using google as well) and then install them using "installpkg" command line, good luck.
