SO how did XORG change? Cause i t will not let me install Nvidia Drv without crashin
ubuntu Jaunty seems to have the new version of x.org that does not use xorg.conf. So everytime I install the nvidia driver it trys to set xorg.conf up for the nvidia driver even though this will not work. SO now I am stuck without 3d renderign and if i dont get my daily dose of GTA4 I will lose it. I have 2 nvidia 9600 gt cards hooked with a SLI bridge. I have tried nvidia 180 and 185 also the nvidia drivers in the repo. Any ideas or iunfo would be greatful.
My problem is that my xorg.conf is completly blank even though i am in gnome now. I am trying to install the nvidia driver and the damn thing crashs my system cause my system is not using xorg.conf and that is where the nvidia drivers seem to be trying to set them selves up at.
