shorewall blocking access to net mandrake 9

After installing mandrake 9 and downloading all updates I installed the shorewall firewall set all the various limits, fired it up and it blocks access to the net all i get back using all the different browsers is page empty. I did not have this problem with mandrake 8.1. Ideas please

For what it's worth, I had exactly the same problem and ended up getting rid of Shorewall - now I use Msec 'high' setting and looking for a firewall that doesn't need a networking qualification to set up ;-).

Judging from other threads/forums, a lot of people have problems with Shorewall.

I wonder why they got rid of tinyfirewall - for the average end user it was easy to set up, gave stealth readings and it worked practically out of the box....
