rhel6 ws & X11

Hi all I'm new to this forum and Linux in general. I have been assigned a task to install Redhat as a VM with Xen. I did the install from a iso that I downloaded from the Redhat site. When I run the command # startx I get this.

X.Org X Server 1.7.7

giving up.
xinit: No such file or directory (errno 2): unable to connect to X server
xinit: No such process (errno 3): Server error.

Now from that it seems like the problem is that its not finding the devices or something. To be honest I have no idea what the problem is. Any help would be appreciated.

Also when I list my /dev it has no fbdev

Thanks again

you do know that "startx" is and has not been required in many many many years
in RHEL 5 and 6 gdm well auto run to start gnome

and did you ?

contact them ?
seeing as RHEL is not free and you MUST buy a license

just what did you install ?
the default "server" version ?
or the default "Desktop" version
or some "custom " install
