I, too, have a dual-monitor set up. I would like to use one monitor to run X11, and the other to run a text-only mode, like when you press ctrl+alt+fX, where 1 <= X <= 6.

The OP of this thread may or may not be around these days (this thread is a year+ old) and you should have created a new thread for your issue, even though ti is very similar. I will see about having your post removed and re-created as a new thread of its own.

Meanwhile, if you go to the LQ Search page and put the following words into the keyword box:
And select "Search entire posts", and put MY username into the "Find posts by username" box, you will get 6 hits. The first 3, deal with this subject. They will not provide the solution - I do not believe there *is* a solution at this time for this problem - but they will give you some reading material and links to other locations where there is information on this.
