remote desktop with knoppix

I've just recently been playing with vnc and love being able to connect between my doze, linux, and moms os x boxes. I assumed I'd be able to boot off of a knoppix disk and use my home system from anywhere, but it apears that knoppix 3.7 (newest?) dosn't have a vnc client! it has something called nxclient, some client for a proprietary remote desktop system. can nxclient connect to standard vnc server? I havn't been able to make it. Is there a free version of nxserver? there are a few references to it, but I havn't found one. and is there some other client on knoppix 3.7 I can use to connect to a standard vnc server?

help!
