Hello, this is my first post, and this is my first time installing linux (friend is a guru and has converted me to Gentoo Gnome).
I was installing Gentoo(Gnome) from the liveCD iso (burned onto a CD) and after 3 hours of Emerging was getting a little bit bored, so started using the Epiphany web browser to kill the time.
The install had progressed to the stage where it was emerging the add-on packages i had chosen earlier in the install process, but as I was fiddling with Epiphany (!!MAJOR IDIOT ALERT!!) I closed the install window and lost all my progress!!!!! (I use a pretty jumpy optical mouse which is a tad too sensitive when using the liveCD)
I was wondering if i can just resume the install process from inside the partially installed OS i have now using the emerge function (it doesnt have a GUI yet AFAIK was only on package 85/363)
Problem is I don't know the exact usage of emerge and am afraid to try the installer program again in case i have to format all the partitions it made and start over!
Yours thankfully,
Neelybob, a frightful
