post 1024 cylinders unpartitioned installation?

My QuestioN:

Anyway to install mandrake on the unpartitioned space after my 15 gig windows partition?

History:

Wiped hard drive.

Installed XP but left 10 gigs for linux unpartitioned.

Installed all programs.

Kicking myself for not making a partition before the windows partition that could be a linux boot loader.

Depends on the age of the machine. Considering it's running XP I guess it's not that obsolete.

Modern machines and linux OS's are not limitted by the 1024 barrier.

Thanks, that's encouraging to hear.

I'm installing linux through the mandrake installer. It worked before except the only difference is that this time I have linux as NTFS and windows is the first partition. The laptop is only 2 years old so it's not yet a paper weight by my standards.

I'll keep trying.
