Thanks chris,
I just downloaded the lilo 21.7.5 (may 7th release) from some German site. It's a tar.gz file. Got to figure out how to install it.
But, can't you boot even if old Lilo was installed on a floppy? IS there a restrictions like, for whatever lilo you are using, the root partition must lie witin 1024 limits?

You cannot boot partitions that start over 8GB or smth. Dunno if that's the 1024 limit (just look it up )
Anyway, you can use loadlin to boot from those partitions. Make a startup menu in your config.sys, 1 option for normal boot to windows and 1 option for calling loadlin with the appropriate parameters to boot linux.
Worked for me.
Edit: By the way, this means that your kernel will be on your Windows partition.
Thanks Isajera
I would like to install lilo on floppy. How can I do that?
Griffon:
Yeah, 1024 cylinder limit translates into 8GB.
I am presently multibooting my RH with 98 and XP using NT loader and if needed a floppy. Working perfectly. I am busy trying to get SuSE to install and work along with other OS's. Unfortunately, my SuSE partition exceeds the 1024 limit and can't directly boot, either with boot floppy or NT Loader. Loadlin is still not an option as I want to get SuSE to boot from NT loader. Thanks for the Loadlin link.
At this point, i have a couple of questions.
1. the New LILO, does it need to be installed only on a floppy or MBR in order to work? Can't I install it on the root partition and get going with the existing floppy?
2. How to install LILO on floppy?
Moreover, Is it possible to have a LILO on both root and floppy and still be able to boot? Is there any restriction like LILO has to be installed either on root, or the floppy and not on both?
