Pango not building - glib not installed correctly?

Hey. I'm running Slackware 10.1, and am trying to update my libraries so that I can install newer software.

Problem I'm running into is that pango won't build, although the configure script runs just fine. I get an error "glib.h: no such file or directory". I might not have installed glib correctly, I can't find a good how-to on installing libraries, probably because I'm a n00b.

I've added glib's .pc file path to PKG_CONFIG_PATH, is there anything else I need to do?

for Slackware you dont need to compile pango or glib from source.........just download the tarballs and use "installpkg"..........
Code:
installpkg pango.1.xx.tgz
installpkg glib.2.1xx.tgz
