open office getting uninstalled everyday

Hi ,
I am new to Linux and have Fedora 14 installed in my home pc and notebook,
I installed open office 3.3.0 in both.
The open office stops working next day and shows as not installed in the add/remove software in my home pc.
I reinstall then it works in that session and nextday disappears,
This has now happened five times .
i installed linux only one week back and everyday i have been installing open office.
I have been doing all the updates till now.
i would be nice if some help could be provided .
I have installed open office exactly as per the instructions form linux help guides.
Thanks in advance and regards.

Try updating your system if you have not done already. Fedora 14 has been out a long time and will soon be replaced by 15. There have been a lot of updates since it came out and maybe that is causing your problem.

As root type this into Konsole:
Code:
yum update

And how is that?

The vast majority of Linux users will get OpenOffice by installing it from their distros repositories using whatever tool is provided by their distro. Is that what you did?

Most of the big distros have switched to LibreOffice now though.
