Open source for the everyday user...

I am a Linux user. An amateur I would say. I havn't really found a distro that works for me, and I think there are many other people that just want a hassle free computing experience "out of the box" that have tried Linux and moved on. Not because Linux is bad, but because a lot still doesn't "just work". (i am thinking of users who DON'T want to use the command line and DON'T want to search for problem fixes.)

When will linux or open source in general take over? This question is a bit of a hot topic in some places. Maybe the average user needs a fully integrated system (a la Apple mac) that just works and looks good (even the computer itself) to consider Linux an option? Who knows. I like this idea either way and have started a site to discuss how this could be implemented. Surf to:

thx from Sweden!
