I'm currently running RedHat 2.4.9-e.3 and trying to configure a Sound Blaster Live sound card. I've downloaded alsa-driver-1.0.6a and followed installations notes for emu10k1... ........alsa-project.org/alsa-doc/doc-php/template.php?company=Creative+Labs&card=Sound+Blaster+Live+Value.&chip=emu10k1&module=emu10k1

Thanks for the quick reply ... if by needing the "kernel source package" is in reference to the modversion.h errors -- that's the information that is stored in the include file. It seems as if 'make' is just echoing the content of the file ??? any thoughts on that ?
