newbie and raid 1 setup

I am currently setting up a dual boot linux and xp system that has a raid 1 array. Both operating systems will be installed on a single 250GB SATA hard drive and there are two additional 250GB drives configured with Raid 1. The motherboard is a brand new intel, don't have model, but I can get if needed. I am trying to install Mandriva 2007, when I first start the install it gathers the raid drivers and then prompts me whether to use them or not, regardless of what I choose, after I finish the install and reboot, the boot menu does not display and systems automatically boots into XP.

I am having trouble finding much out on the web and wondering if someone can provide help or provide a guide to follow from.

Did you install Xp after or before mandriva? I had the same problem before , what happened was i installed slackware first then Xp and windows boot loader cancelled out Lilo and booted straight into XP. Reinstalling Lilo solved the problem for me.

I installed XP and then I installed mandriva, I made sure of this because I have had the same thing happen to me when I started.

Update: I decided to take a new approach to this problem, disconnect all raid devices and install both os on the main hdd. Then hookup the two raid drives. I will try this when I get a chance, I am open to any suggestions.
