Nessus, could not connect

Installed Nessus. Trying to register but it doesn't connect to the Nessus server.
nessus-fetch --register XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX
could not connect to plugins.nessus.org - Operation now in progress

Connect thrue a proxy. Network is ok. Tried a wget to another link that worked.

I'm stuck.

try:

ping plugins.nessus.org

and see if it connects with ping. The site could be down.
