I am newbie to linux world.

I am looking for some help in installing Java 1.6 on Red Hat Linux Enterprise Edition 4.6 ( 64 bit )

Detailed steps would greatly be appreciated

Have you taken at least a quick look at the Sun's documentation and step by step installation, known problems, etc?

Because I am not sure we can describe it better than Sun =D. Now, if you get stuck, please tell us where you got stuck.
