Trouble in Installing Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4

Iam unable to install RHEL 4 (WS) on my system.whenever i try my system gets hanged after the "anaconda installer runs".I get VERTICAL N HORIZONTAL LINES OF DIFFERENT COLORS . I have the following system configuration.

Pentium 4 (2.6Ghz)
sata hdd (120GB)
intel 915 chipset motherboard
ViewSonic VE510B LCD

Everthing like the monitor,the display card ,mouse etc... are getting detected but the next stage wherein i get to the display mode to continue the installation fails,please do help me.I have

NOTE: I'M ABLE TO INSTALL IT IN THE TEXT MODE AND WORK ONLY IN RUNLEVEL 3.I have tried all the possible solutions like nofb,lowres etc but these things didn't work out.

Then all you need to do is fix your X-windows configuration. As root type; system-config-display --reconfig

Try selecting your monitor, if not available select a Generic LCD Monitor at comes close to or matches your ViewSonic's native resolution.
