My Introduction & my first question

Dear All,

My name is Mirza Hassan i am from Lahore Pakistan and this is my first day on this site. I just have started studying Linux and i am having some questions about it.

First of all i want you guys to please tell me about the proper version of Fedora if i just would like to configure a Squid Proxy server in it?

Actually, many years ago. I have configured it in Fedore Core I3 but i don't know about the latest one. I just need a simple proxy server. So please guide me about it. Thanks in advance

Hi Mirza...

Welcome to the forum

I would imagine the lastest (supported) releases of Fedora should be fine, although from what I understand, RPMfusion isn't up and running completely with F22, although this may no longer be the case.

There seem to be all kinds of guides on Google on configuring Squid, just pick one that works for you. Here is one example. You can also purchase a book like this one.

Regards...

For desktop internet usage try 'polipo'. It's more easier to setup and use.

Hi...

I'm sorry, I am unable to do this as I have no experience at all with this program. However, the are more resources available on the web that could possibly be of help, such as here. You can also do a general Google search here.

Regards...
