Remove the Linux partitions, remove bootloader from mbr, re-partition and format your drive as fat32, then install Windows.

Ranish Partition Manager

# How do I uninstall Linux completely and keep/use Windows only?
How to Remove Linux and Install Windows 2000
How to Remove Linux and Install Windows XP
You can remove lilo from the mbr with
/sbin/lilo -u
You can remove grub or lilo from the mbr by booting with a Windows 98 boot floppy (at the prompt, type fdisk /mbr)

Cos if it is Win98, you have to have the DiskManager of your hdd to reformat your hdd.

If you have or can get a copy of Knoppix then use cfdisk to repartition the drive for fat32 and then use your Win '98 disk to format the drive.

Does that Ranish Partition Manager do everything you need, As kill the Linux partitions, remove bootloader from mbr, re-partition and format your drive as fat32, then install Windows?

I read over the Remove Linux and Install WIndows, But on there it says nothing about removing LILO, which is the master booter that make only Linux thing Boot.. It just talks about the Removing of the Partitons and then Install Windows? It sounds confusing from what you guys are saying and what it is saying?

If the MicroSoft Tutorial is right. Then all I need to do is remove my Linux Partitions and Install windows with a Windows OS Bootable CD right?

That is what you need to do. The Windows install automatically removes all bootloaders. 'fdisk /mbr' from a dos disk is how to do it manually.

If your win98SE disc isn't bootable then it is the SE upgrade disc, and you will need the original win98 install disc. (assuming your PC can boot from CDROM...)

It should work..........just make sure there is a space in between, like so:
Code:
fdisk /mbr
Another reason it might not work is fdisk couldn't be found....use a win98 startup disk and it should work

Not really. Once you find a bootable cd, make sure the settings in the BIOS boot the cd before the hard drive......a common bootup order from the BIOS is floppy, cdrom, then hard drive
