I have Red Hat 9 on my Computer right now and I found my old back up of Windows 98SE
I want to change my OS to Win98SE but I have a probelm doing so.. I put my Boot OS to CDROM.... Is there any way to fix it? I don't Think I have the Upgrade CD..
Does that Ranish Partition Manager do everything you need, As kill the Linux partitions, remove bootloader from mbr, re-partition and format your drive as fat32, then install Windows?
I read over the Remove Linux and Install WIndows, But on there it says nothing about removing LILO, which is the master booter that make only Linux thing Boot.. It just talks about the Removing of the Partitons and then Install Windows? It sounds confusing from what you guys are saying and what it is saying?
If the MicroSoft Tutorial is right. Then all I need to do is remove my Linux Partitions and Install windows with a Windows OS Bootable CD right?
Well then My Windows 98SE is not Bootable then if it doesn't boot?
I changed my NetBios to CDROM.. Is there any way to boot It? Or am I at square one with the question, bye removeing the Partitions? I don't have a Floppy or a Dos Floppy...
If your win98SE disc isn't bootable then it is the SE upgrade disc, and you will need the original win98 install disc. (assuming your PC can boot from CDROM...)
Originally posted by o0black0o ok...... For it to boot up do I have to kill LILO and all that other stuff?
Not really. Once you find a bootable cd, make sure the settings in the BIOS boot the cd before the hard drive......a common bootup order from the BIOS is floppy, cdrom, then hard drive
