What distro and desktop are you using ? When asking for help on a linux forum, you should include as much information as possible, to help the people trying to help you. More is better than less.

The simplest way to install konqueror would be to use yum. I'm pretty sure konqueror would have a million dependencies that yum will sort out for you....

I don't think I would use kdebase4 in any event. Even the kde developers say that kde4 isn't ready for prime time. It needs a little work yet, go with kde3 based stuff for now.

Good luck...

I've never installed KDE or konqueror from source (or I have but portage has done the job for me ), but you have to compile those packages in order qt -> kdelibs -> kdebase

The easiest way though would be:
Code:
yum install konqueror
as root user

By the way, is there a specific reason why you wan't to compile the packages by hand?

The konqueror will work if the compile is successfull. You can install the libraries and others to your home folder by giving the "prefix" parameter to configure script in the sources:
For example:
Code:
./configure --prefix=/home/me/kde
This would install the package to /home/me/kde
