Kali linux 1.0.7-i386 is slow/laggy as hell in virtualbox!!!

It's so annoying it's just driving me mad I go to virtualbox settings and all system and processor option is greyed out and then I go to display and that video memory and monitor is greyed out aswell it's so annoying!!! How to fix this sh*t? It lags like hell after a while when I open many tabs and close them and then do some other stuff and take screenshot and come back. So how to fix this?!? btw I did over 20 screenshots.

I take it you did not read the links you were pointed to in your other thread.

Well, you're a sysadmin right? You can figure it out surely?

Post reported.

Most VirtualBox settings are unavailable while the VM is running - which makes sense; you wouldn't install a new video card or CPU while your bare metal PC was running. Close the VM, change the settings, then run it.

Also, obligatory “if you consider yourself a newbie enough to post here, you shouldn’t be using Kali”, because you’re about to hear it a lot.

Welcome to LQ.

Suggest you review LQ's site information about how to ask clear and effective questions.

This is the second Kali thread you've opened with an unclear question.

https://www.linuxquestions.org/quest...86-4175626344/

Have you loaded any different Linux distributions under VirtualBox successfully?

I read the Linux documentation before already btw and I did turn off the Virtualbox VM and went to the settings already before and it was still greyed out!

Holy shit it worked sorry about that ur a genius I taught u mean't turn it off and leave the saved state. thx homie buddy! I hope to solve the lag soon so I can mark this thread as solved. Now the last thing I'm wondering is what recommended settings should I put in the VM settings?

Recommendations would vary wildly based on your physical hardware, but I definitely would recommend Linux Mint and a good Bash tutorial until you get the hang of things. That’s really the main thing I’d recommend.

Text speak is discouraged on LQ because it can be unclear in meaning. We have a number of members from all parts of the world. Please understand this moving forwards.

Similarly, the slang language will be a problem if you persist with including that in every post you make. We're all trying to be friendly and respectful here. Glad you got through the first part of the problem, and hope that one of our members can advise you on recommended VM settings, if not already what urbanwks has suggested.
