I started using Linux literally yesterday. I installed a Kali Linux VM in VirtualBox and have been getting familiar with it. The issue I'm having is that one of my USB drives is not being recognized. The error I get is "Failed to attach the USB device to the virtual machine Kali Linux. USB device is busy with a previous request."
Distribution: Debian Sid AMD64, Raspbian Wheezy, various VMs

You may need to unmount them in the host operating system. In Windows I think you do it by right-clicking the drive in explorer and selecting something like "safely remove".
Thank you. I tried that first. I unmounted it and it still didn't work. I restarted both the VM and the PC and am still getting the same error message.
