Kaffeine: xine error No Demux Plugin

I have purchased SuSE 9 pro and have been trying for weeks to get video. Currently I'm up to having kaffeine 0.4 installed but it doesn't find any demux plugin. I get the following error:

xine error: No demux plugin.

The xine version installed is xine 0.9.23
have gone to http://cambuca.ldhs.cetuc.puc-rio.br/xine/ and downloaded and installed the "libxine1-(version)-xxxxxx.k6.rpm for AMD K6" stuff like theyt say, but nothing happens. I have an old K-6 (2) 533, 20 GB HDD, 320 MB RAM.

What am I missing?

After the demux problem is beat, the is a small issue of the libdvdcss that I can't get to work. SuSE seems not to like me or my machine.

Would be grateful for any help. Am at the end of my rope and considering a return to Windoze.

Just movie trailers, say from yahoo. The dvd player installation also seems a bit dodgy. Its there, mounted that is, but I can't play dvd's. (Am trying to concentrate on one thing at a time and since kaffeine is at least telling me what's wrong that would be a good place to start.)

The dvd problem seems to be the decoding. Do you think these are related issues. I am out of my depths here. Just learning about linux (the hard way). I have managed to install Avidemux, but it and xine don't seem to get along with each other. This confuses me.

Cheers,
rich

Don't blame SuSE for xine problems. There will be a day when Lindows too will have problems distributing licensed decoders. Redhat did with xmms. There is a fix to the SuSE problems you were having. I had the same probs and I fixed it.
