Kaffeine No plugin problem

I had Kaffeine running ok until I stuffed it somehow!

To fix the problem, I tried removing the installed kaffeine and the xine rpm files, and re-installing them - but this did not help. Next, I re-installed the kaffeine and xine files using --force. This has been partially successful - it has got me to this point.

When using Konqueror file manage, if I right click on an avi file and select 'Preview with Kaffeine', Kaffeine plays the file as expected.

If I right click on the same file and select 'Open With', Kaffeine starts (does not display the openning rotating logo) and displays this message: "Error: No plugin found to handle this resource"

If I start Kaffeine from a console, it starts OK but does not display the openning rotating logo. If I go to File/Open supported media files are not displayed. If I select the 'all files' option and select an avi file, it will not play, and again I get the message: "Error: No plugin found to handle this resource".

The console shows the following:

$ kaffeine
kaffeine: Symbol `_ZTI18KUniqueApplication' has different size in shared object, consider re-linking
kaffeine: Symbol `_ZTI7QPixmap' has different size in shared object, consider re-linking
kaffeine: Symbol `_ZTI7QWidget' has different size in shared object, consider re-linking

Can someone tell me what do I need to do next?

I have improved on the above posting, and now have only one problem:

If I use Konqueror file manager, right click on an avi or mpg file, and then select 'Preview with Kaffeine', Kaffeine plays the file as expected.

If on the other hand, I start Kaffeine, and try to play the same avi or mpg file by going to File/Open, Kaffeine shuts down.

Can someone suggest a fix for this???
