Get a list of all active services:
Code:
# chkconfig --list | grep on
Deactivate the services you don't need:
Code:
# chkconfig servicename off

You can also run ntsysv or system-config-services and disable the services you do not need.

thanx alot fellows. i did it this time.
One more problem. My system is working slow as well. especially on FC5. Windows XP is working ok. What may be the problem? closest i could get to this is that i have XP installed on primary master IDE hard disk and FC 5 on Primary Slave IDE. is this the problem?
