How to install video codecs for Totem player

I have totem movie player, it came with mandrake, but it wont play lots of movies, specifically WMV format which there seem to be a lot of. I downloaded a pack of codecs from the mplayer site, but I dont know where to install them to. Anybody know?

well if you use the install script, they should automatically get installed in /usr/lib/win32

if you use the rpms, they'll get installed also in /usr/lib/win32

you'll probably have tell totem to look there too. i don't use totem so i don't know. i know that xine and mplayer look there by default.
