im having some trouble playing a few mpg and avi files in totem. i would say 85% of the movies i have run fine but there are a few that have problems. i can't get quicktime files working after installing the codec pack from mplayers homepage. win32 codec pack appears to be working just fine. and some divx files arent working even after i installed the divx4linux files.
one other problem is that a couple of .mpg files have video but the audio is distorted and sounds like its running at half speed.
if you could link me to some nice working quicktime and divx codecs (those are priority) i would greatly appreciate it. thanks guys.
Totem uses the xine libraries, not mplayers. If you use mandrake, I'm pretty sure you can get these from plf if you have urpmi set up. Otherwise, google for xine codecs and see what you get.

thanks for this info -- it's just what i needed to know.
it's a shame that totem's own home page doesn't have such a basic piece of information clearly visible somewhere.
