forcedeth + suse 9.1

I found forcedeth on my linux portion of my computer.

What are the necessary steps to get it installed? Furthermore, why did it not install during the initial installation?

By the way, I use an ASUS K8N-E Deluxe.

What kernel are you using? If it's 2.6.5 or higher, which it should be for Suse v9.1, you shouldn't need to do anything because it's built in. Check the results of "lsmod" and if forcedeth doesn't appear in the list, try manually loading it via the "modprobe" command. in theory that should do it. -- J.W.

I've tried the modprobe command. I have my lslib (???) results posted in another thread.

I had Mandrake 10.0 64 Bit Beta installed prior and it did not detect my ethernet as well. However, strangely enough it detected my winmodem.
