Forcedeth

I've just found out this forcedeth stuff, a driver that is supposed to help nforce owners to configure their ethernet and other stuff. What I would like to know is:

1- What exactly is this forcedeth?
2- Does it work?
3- How do I install it? Which file should I download? One of those txt files? And how do I install it? My kernel is 2.4.22.

The link: http://www.hailfinger.org/carldani/l...hes/forcedeth/

Hi,
You can try and download the binary module from:
http://www.hailfinger.org/carldani/l...th/forcedeth.o

Copy it to /lib/modules/kernel/2.4.22
Then run depmod

And try
modprobe forcedeth

If that fails, then install the kernel-source (I think there's a RPM called kernel-source).
Then, download forcedeth_2_4_patch_v19.txt.2.4.22 (http://www.hailfinger.org/carldani/l...v19.txt.2.4.22)

Then apply it by running patch -p1 < forcedeth_2_4_patch_v19.txt.2.4.22.

Then, build the kernel.
Good luck!

Kampri - Please do not post the same thread in more than one forum. Picking the most relevant forum and posting it once there makes it easier for other members to help you and keeps the discussion all in one place.
