File not found: CATALINA_PID_FILE=$CF/$INSTALL/work/catalina.pid

I have a script which checks if the is the catalina is still running and its defined at the top of the script

Code:
# Confluence process ID file
CATALINA_PID_FILE=$CF/$INSTALL/work/catalina.pid
but when I run it, it can't find the .pid.

Code:
+ TIME=E
+ CATALINA_PID_FILE=/home/atlassian//work/catalina.pid
+ '[' '!' -e /home/backup/confluence ']'
+ case "$1" in
/home/software/confluence-backup.sh: line 68: /home/atlassian//work/catalina.pid: No such file or directory
+ '[' -s /home/atlassian//work/catalina.pid -a -d /proc/ ']'
++ date
+ DATE='Wed Jul 15 12:52:03 UTC 2015'
Original scripts near bottom of page if anyone is interested.

Confluence daily backup routine
If you want to use the above script as a subroutine in a daily backup script, you can do so with the following cron script:

Thanks in advance

Should there really be TWO slashes (//) in the path? (See above).

Best regards,
