failed to run rpm


hi Guys
Finally i got some rpm for softwmodem (motorola SM56K PCI modem) but they r working with redhat Linux 6.2 , i got the error failed "failed gnome -auth due to fatal error"
anybody any idea about it or anyother for get the rpm for above modem...........please help around sooooon.

I'm afraid unless you're actually using 6.2, those RPMs are highly unlikely to work. If you can get hold of the source for them, you can recompile but unfortunately softmodems tend to be not have such code available unless they've been reverse engineered.

Sucks, but unfortunately until hardware manufacturers get used to the idea that drivers should be open source, there isn't much that can be done.

You need to recompile it for your kernel, or ask somebody to do it for you.
