Ok finally got Red Hat 9.0 and xp on the same system without crashing. THe only thing now is windows will load up but linux wont...

when the computer starts it goes through its normal routine and then just a blinking line... if i tell it to manually boot from my xp drive xp loads... if i tell it to boot linux drive i just get the blinking line..

heres how I installed linux..

created three partitions on my linux drive
swap
/
/boot

chose not to use gnum or lilo because im going to use partition magic so i created my boot disc.. i try to use the boot disc and still no go... says replace disk.. so i've tried 3 different floppies on 3 different installs and none of them work...

i'm hesitant to use gnom or lilo becasue when i originally started trying to run linux with xp i would get that rootnovalue error and crash my whole system.

does anyone have any ideas at what i could do next?

ok ty I'm gonna give this a try... I'm thinking im gonna delet red hat and do a new install with /boot on my xp drive... see how this works out
