display quits out

Suse 10.0, gnome, rookie skills. The display will go off for no reason. Screen saver is off, power management in yast is set to performance and i've tried other things i can't remember. The monitor doesn't turn off it just goes blank. Even sometimes while im typing or doing things? Whats up?

How old is that monitor because it might be going bad? Have you recently move or moved it possibly causing physical harm?

Your montior should not go blank in that fashion. Since never really running Suse the notion of knowing how to fix your problem does not present itself. Never really had a problem of this nature with any other distro.

Have you recently installed your graphics card drivers? (That could be the problem)
If you have not installed your drivers then that could also be a problem.

Play aronud inthe display setting and see if the problem can be corrected.
